Josh Chang is an analyst at the Center for Strategic and Budgetary Assessments (CSBA), where he focuses on U.S. defense strategy, airpower, nuclear deterrence, missile defense, force planning, and Indo-Pacific defense issues. He previously worked for the Long Term Strategy Group (LTSG), the Center for Strategic and International Studies (CSIS) Japan Chair, and the Council on Foreign Relations (CFR), where he supported studies on Chinese military power, the U.S.-Japan alliance, near-peer competition, and U.S. strategy in Asia. Josh was also a 2022 nuclear scholar at the CSIS Project on Nuclear Issues (PONI), where he conducted a project examining East Asian allies' views of U.S. nuclear modernization.
