Vance Serchuk

Council Member

Vance Serchuk is the Executive Director of the KKR Global Institute, the geopolitical strategy unit of the international investment firm KKR. In this capacity, Vance works on a range of KKR investments, with particular focus on defense, national security, and emerging markets. He currently serves on the board of Hensoldt Inc. Vance is also an adjunct senior fellow at the Center for a New American Security. Previously, he served as the senior national security advisor to Senator Joseph Lieberman and as a professional staff member on the Senate Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs Committee. In 2013, he lived in Japan as a Council on Foreign Relations-Hitachi International Affairs Fellow and was a monthly columnist for the Washington Post. Vance’s writings have also appeared in the The New York TimesWall Street JournalThe AtlanticNational Review, and Politico.

Mr. Serchuk is a summa cum laude graduate of Princeton University, holds a JD from Yale Law School, and was a Fulbright scholar in the Russian Federation. He has served for the past 8 years as an officer in the U.S. Navy Reserve.
