On Monday, March 3, 2014, CSBA experts Todd Harrison and Mark Gunzinger hosted a conference call to offer perspectives on the 2015 QDR and defense budget.
Mr. Harrison compared the FY15 budget request to previous years’ requests and the budget caps Congress has enacted. He discussed the balance this budget attempts to find among compensation, force structure, modernization, and readiness, and compared the choices made in this budget to the Joint Think Tank exercise CSBA hosted with three other think tanks in early February.
Mr. Gunzinger provided context for the 2015 QDR and discussed early indicators of what this QDR would say and what it would mean for the direction the Department is taking.
