CSBA Welcomes New Budget and Resource Research Fellow

The Center for Strategic and Budgetary Assessments (CSBA) is pleased to welcome Katherine Blakeley as its new research fellow focused on the defense budget and defense resourcing.

Vice President and Director of Studies Jim Thomas said, “Katherine could not have joined CSBA at a better time. One of our core competencies is evaluating the Department of Defense’s current and future programing decisions for this country’s policy makers. Katherine’s experience and expertise will ensure our appraisals during the upcoming 2017 federal budget season are relevant and well-timed.”

“Katherine is a very welcome addition to the CSBA staff,” added President Andrew Krepinevich. “She has a proven track record of concise and authoritative research that will contribute greatly to CSBA’s assessments.”

Prior to joining CSBA, Katherine worked as a defense policy analyst at the Congressional Research Service and the Center for American Progress. She is completing her Ph.D. in Political Science from the University of California, Santa Cruz, where she also received her M.A. Her academic research examines Congressional defense policymaking. Katherine graduated from Vassar College with honors.
