Open Letter: Defense Reform Consensus

CSBA scholars have signed an open letter calling on Congress and the Pentagon to address the growing imbalances within the defense budget that threaten the health and long-term viability of America’s volunteer military.

Andrew Krepinevich, Jim Thomas, Eric Edelman, Mark Gunzinger and Todd Harrison, join twenty other prominent defense scholars from ten Washington think tanks in a bipartisan Defense Reform Consensus movement that advocates closing excess bases and facilities, reexamining the size and structure of the DoD civilian workforce, and reforming military compensation.

On June 3, 2013, the signatories of the letter held a press briefing on Capitol Hill. Webcast of the event is available via C-SPAN.
