James “Jeb” Benkowski

James “Jeb” Benkowski is a fellow at the Center for Strategic and Budgetary Assessments (CSBA) and a Ph.D. candidate at the Johns Hopkins University’s Paul H. Nitze School of Advanced International Studies (SAIS). Before coming to CSBA, he was a predoctoral fellow at the Henry A. Kissinger Center for Global Affairs, where he helped manage the International Policy Scholars Consortium and Network. Jeb has consulted for the Department of Defense and previously worked at the RAND Corporation, Yale-NUS College, and Center for a New American Security. His research foci include force planning, civil-military relations, nuclear strategy, and Chinese defense policy. He holds an M.A. in International Relations and International Economics from SAIS, where he was a Presidential Management Fellowship finalist, and a B.A. in Global Affairs from Yale University.
